When are you getting better?

How much faster could you progress if you set aside a consistent daily routine to work on the foundational skills that will lead you to your goals?

Distractions abound. Email, texts, interruptions and even our own attention span can distract us. You want to make progress on your most important goals. You even know the skills and the habits you need to develop to get you there, but somehow the distractions take priority over what’s really most important.

Setting aside time work on your goals and the habits that lead to greater progress is not a new idea. In fact, many books have been written about building habits and systems to develop better ones.

Habits and routines make up a large portion of our day. They are the mechanism that bring efficiency and focus to our lives. James Clear says that your life is essentially the sum of your habits and that your success and happiness is driven by those habits. James has written extensively about the science of habits and how to hack habit building.
