Your name is a keyword for your personal brand.

Are you optimized for it?

I’m going to cut the fluff and jump straight to what I’ve observed and learned about my own online behavior that led me to formulate some key takeaways you should consider when optimizing your personal brand and identity online.

My online behavior and what most people do that you need to be prepared for.

I search for a keyword. I am usually looking for information to help me with a problem I have.

Maybe you want to get a new job, so you search…you guessed it…”how fo find a job”

Next, I scan the search results looking for preview text that looks relevant.

Then I open 3 to 4 pieces of content, and scan until I feel like I’ve found what I’m looking for.

Here is the differentiator:

If there’s a person’s name in the title of a piece of content, I’m more likely to click on it. It could be anyone. I don’t know them.
