How To Make Your Team Feel Like A Team
5 steps to being the leader your team wants and needs
As a leader, you have a responsibility to ensure your team feels like a team.
The most important part of a team is that they ARE a team.
A team comes together around and actively supports its common purpose. While most organizations think they have a team, they’re usually just a group of people who work together.
There’s a very big difference between being on a team and just working with others.
How are you doing at creating a team, rather than just a group of individuals?
Here are some ways to encourage your team to make them feel like they are a part of a team.
Enroll them in the bigger picture
The most impactful teams are the ones that have a shared purpose and know why what they do matters. So make sure that your team knows how the work they do connects to the bigger picture of your organization and how it impacts others.
For example, if you’re trying to increase customer retention, show how each role on your team plays a part in achieving this goal.
Don’t just tell the team what they need to know.
