His head sank as he saw the eggs covered in cheese.
I make breakfast for my family on most weekends. I enjoy cooking and the conversation with my family as I cook and they await the meal. It has become a weekend ritual.
On Sunday, we had cheese eggs, but my son doesn’t like cheese.
As soon as we saw them laid on the table the complaining began.
“But, I don’t like cheese on my eggs.”
My daughter told him that I always put cheese in the eggs. “It’s usually mixed in and you can’t see it”, she said.
He glanced at the eggs, then back at her. Grabbing the serving spoon he helped himself to a scoop. We teach our kids to be polite and take thank you bites, so I suspected he was just complying with our house rules.
But to my surprise, he ate the eggs.
It was the first time I used cheese.
What you believe may not always be founded in truth.
But in who you trust.
This was a good reminder that who you listen to in our life, can have a profound impact on your experience.
