If you’re a bootstrapped founder, chances are your customer research is often an afterthought.

In fact, building and creating typically take precedence over learning about your customers.

I can’t blame you. It’s so easy to fall in love with the idea of creating something new and who has the time!

If you aren’t spending time discovering problems worth solving — you aren’t going to have any customers.

The problem is that it’s easy get stuck when it comes to your customer research. You don’t do it because:

You don’t stick with it long enough to get the data you need

It’s hard to stay engaged when working through a to-do list of surveys or interviews. Other tasks are distracting and it can get overwhelming listening to everything your customer has to say.

It’s only natural to retreat back into your comfort zone (e.g., coding).

You don’t find recognize significant themes and when one emerges from your interviews
